I'm new at bass fishing and was looking for books & DVD's to help learn technique and sonar, so last night I read reviews on both Bass pro shop & tackle warehouse for numerous DVD's. Seems like 90% of all reviews were negative? Any suggestions will be appreciated!
PS: Time on the water is not a real option with the nearest lake being 4 hours away since every lake in West Texas is dry!! You should look for videos on YouTube. There are some very good ones from the pros and guides and so on. I started doing this last year and found some great info. I bought a lowrance hds 7 w/ structure scan last year and found very good info from Tom redding ton on YouTube. I also found very good info on drop shotting on there from aaron martens. Anything you want to know, search it on YouTube and you'll find somethin. Best of all it's free so you can sort through the fluff and all with no worries. Also, look at wired to fish.com

All good suggestions. Nothing beats time on the water. The best fisherman tend to be those who fish most. YouTube can be a great place to learn but, you kind of have to have a certain base level to be able to sort through the garbage and sales pitches. This forum, BBC and a few others are very good places. As others have mentioned a good bass club that you fit in with can be an excellent resource as well.
