Was out on belton (middle of the day) today and it was rough. I beat up cedar creek with red eye shads, cranks, wacky rigs and Carolinas. Nothin bit. I'm lost on that lake right now any hints?

Make the drive up to Whitney.... Rocky Creek, King Creek, Cedron Creek, or Cedar Creek... fish have really turned on.

Don't know anymore but we always caught them up Cowhouse Creek...info maybe a little old....last fished there when I was a captain in the Army in 1974...was there when they raised the lake level 15 feet so I knew where all the structure was...submerged picnic tables were the best....

two boats yesterday and 84 fish caught, mostly smallmouth. Find Shad in windblown coves and find the fish. Once you find the shad, look for feeding fish and throw a fluke. let it sink out of sight, twitch it back to the surface and repeat the process. If that doesnt work, go deeper and repeat. Smallmouth/Blacks will mix in with the hybrids and whites, while some stay under the feeding frenzy for what is left or injured shad. Be versitile and try different baits with different techniques.
Good luck

Good luck The big girls like to hang out under the ruckus, in my experience. Try a big flutter spoon if you find the above scenario.

Very true DrewG...caught at least 5 yesterday over 4#. Didnt give away alot of info, gotta save the majic baits for my partner and I. I will say the shad are healthy, jackpot when you find big schools being pushed up by hungry smallmouth, especially when the shad are about 4 to 5 inches long.

Thank you guys, I'm running an old lowerance x22 so finding shad schools can be iffy but I will do my best, haven't done much with fluke a on belton but I will try that my next trip out (maybe a spoon too as mentioned above). Spinner baits were catching whites for me on the dam today but not what I was looking for. I pulled a black out of the marina with a drop shot but only 12 in. I appreciate the info I know some guys don't like sharing but I do appreciate it, I'm learning
