 Question on Shallow Crappie

When you guys say you are catching them in 3' or less right now, what type of water/structure is that? Near creek mouths? or just anywhere in that depth range? Near cover? Timber?
I tried the creeks for about 4 weeks and gave up...havent been out in a couple weeks due to a new kiddo.

Each lake is different. But typically scattered timber on gently sloping banks work best. It's that way on Fork anyway.

Dont overlook gravel or hard bottom areas. That is just as good as a stump in the spring.

I usually find spawning fish on the dam or near rocks and fish tight
Line from 2 1/2 foot deep to 6 inches deep you can also find them in stick ups
Or brush you just need to find the brush that's in the right depth of water I tend to fish brush or stick ups that are about 3 1/2 ft deep hope this helps!!

Dont overlook gravel or hard bottom areas. That is just as good as a stump in the spring. +1 and also big rocks as stated above! & don't leave out the water temps on where you are fishing at. Good Luck!

Anything different in the water, near the shoreline, is where I would start ...waders can be your friend during the spawn...
