We hit Lake Worth this morning as we always do every wednesday before work. The catfish were out in numbers smacking all over the surface. Onebaddj hooked one and several other fish by the runway. Before heading in I fished some stumps by the prison cove. At the first stump I cast a fluke and let it drop. Twitch-twitch and my line got a hit. I reeled in the slack and set the hook! No tension what-so-ever, my uni to uni knot failed me on the fluorocarbon side. Feeling disgusted I retied straight to the braid. Moved over to the next stump and after two casts got another hit. Reeled in the slack and set the hook. Drag started peeling immediately! I knew i had a good one on and when it went airborne, it had my attention. I reached for the net, d'oh!!! I forgot it. I had no choice but to play it out. So after 3 min's I brought it in close enough to lip it. She was 22" and 7 lbs.

Good one! cheers

A good rule of angling philosophy is not to interfere with another fisherman's ways of being happy, unless you want to be hated.

Very nice!!

Stop tying the Uni knot and use the Alberto knot. It's a modified Albright knot, and it is stronger than anything else you can tie in less than 5 minutes.

Nice fish! I bet that was a rush! Your 1st picture shows just how deceptive pictures can be. It makes that bass look 3-4 lbs!! The second pic, however, leaves no doubt.

Agree 100%. It's what I've been using and with a little practice you can tie it quick!
