Lake Winnsboro is full of these giant shad! Actually caught this guy in the mouth with a 1/16 oz. jig fishing under the "Iron Bridge".....

Those big shad are great after they have been cleaned and smoked for about 6 hours low heat a lot of wood smoke...
The Drum are good any way you Cook them...

wait, will they hit a fly....we don't get the sexy shad run like our north east friends... They sure will hit a fly. I caught 2 last year on a little tiny olive nymph fishing for bluegill at Ray Hubbard.
