well to be honest I had to go today ,purple ankle or not ,storms brewing ,wind,rain and my partner in crime is unavailable ....darnet !
I wanted a bite and I got me sum a them . took off on foot first stop down a cliff ,
see who is home today .... first off it was quite obvious ...
all the sunfish species were attending todays episode
bluegill ,bluegill and so on ,green sunfish ,largemouth bass and of course the star of the show as well
and remember this ....MOVE SLOW AS A PETRIFIED SNALE when ya gatcha a purple ankle !

the rain came and went twice on me between 4 pm and 6 30 pm ....the fish were very shallow
nothing wanted a free jig ...just under a float about 16 inches right up by the bank
after one trek to the truck to avoid getting wet
I put on my trusty crappie combat hat and went back to it !
put the Bonehead rod ,line and jigs heads to work today I did
KABOOM

well it aint over quite yet ....I dun the rock cliff combat with em ....
lets go try sum a thick stuff next ....
smack that there rod against every tree ya kan find he says
I tell him NOT A PROBLEM SIR

so there ya have it in a nutshell
go to them hard to reach spots from the bank
get ya sum scratches and bruises and such
go hand to hand with em
they are there waiting for those who dare
I used a translucent white sparkly tubes on the chart bonehead 1/16 oz under a small quill float
lost one fish by the boat ramp ...dint expect to find one that easy
it was fun trip and the fish were sinkin the float ...no peckin round today
took a home mess and filleted them up
a few had on sum serious war paint as well ...

Crappie and Bluegill are hard to beat. Some super eating right there. "Kaboon" !

my level of commitment is up there in the level of trying not to get committed
now as far as the ankle goes here is a photo when it first occurred
before it got extra purple !
and the spot is I went is not available to the general public

it was fun trip out west today sir
the fish were fairly cooperative
and only the crappie got to ride home to the house
the gills crossed my mind though
they were in the eating size range for the most part

its a bit fun getting back to your roots
climbing thru the rocks and tangles and such
balancing on a log here and there
casting sideways under over hangs
trying to stay dry and not take a swim
reminds me of days gone by for sure
