Wow, great bunch of cats! Are those all channels? That one in the first picture is a BIG channel!

I believe 6 are blues and 2 are channels. I'm pretty sure the big one is a blue. They came out of Decker before somebody asks.

Very cool. I'm not that good at telling blues and channels apart, do blues have that noticible overbite? I was under the impression that was a channel thing. They also looked a little darker and more grey then the blues I've caught and seen, but that could just be light or where they were caught too. Either way, great fish!

Young Channels have spots on them I know, but I've never seen spots on a channel over four or five pounds. Or have I just not been looking hard enough? I've caught channels up to 10 or so, and I don't remember seeing any spots.

Yeah I noticed that too. the bigger ones are the ones I can never identify. The little guys are easy.

A rule of thumb to determine whether the fish is a channel or a blue is to count the rays in the anular fin. If it has less than 30, it is a channel, more than 30, it is a blue. At least that is what I have been told.
The hardest thing about fishing is figuring out what the fish want to eat.
