Best read up on your LEO definitions

US Fish and Game has more LAW Enforcement Authority then ANY State(in ANY State),County or Local "cop".
Game Wardens do not need Search Warrants or "probable cause"like the others.
My daughter has schooled many LEO's in her 15+yrs as a Texas Warden.

Do not speak with suspect(s)
Take a video recording device..ie..your phone to video, small video camera,a short video of suspect(s) doing what they are doing that is against the laws of the state.Call operation game thief hotline..they will have a warden close to you call you quick...OR... if you have a wardens number...call him or her--- tell yours and suspect(s)location at present, what is going on and then send him the video and let him take it from there. If you can get their license plate and vehicle description even better as well for the wardens..The Texas wardens are FULL Law enforcement state police officers with all powers in full law enforcement other than wildlife and fish laws. They are all our friends and need our help and can not stand law violators any more than we do as it take resources and our tax money away from us.. so give them a call and a prayer and see what happens.

Try calling INS too. Of course they probably will not respond since BO wants them to have amnesty. This behavior by questionable green card status is happening everywhere.

Caught a huge crappie in my cast net last night. I was tempted to keep it, but I put her back. Ended up catching 3 total in the cast net and never caught any by rod and reel. I was catching a ton of perch too, but I was targeting shad. One cast I pulled in a whole school of perch - around 20. It was a great night on the lake - no wind and not too cold. The fish just weren't biting all that much.

I will say this about bass fisherman. I know a lot and they watch slot limits closely and a lot including myself go for the fun and throw the keepers back anyway.
Same with (Americans) who fish for crappie and cats.

Most of those I see keeping undersized fish at Joe Pool are "good ole boys", born and educated in this country. They keep undersized fish and will often get aggressive if you say anything to them about it.

The nice ones will tell you the reason there are so many undersized crappie in the lake is people not taking them home. That crappie fishing would improve if more of the smaller fish were removed from the lake. Or that the crappie would die anyway so it's better they take them home and not waste them. The others will tell you to mind your own f'ing business and get aggressive about it.

So now I simply walk to my car and call the game warden. I give a description of the people doing it and where I see them store the fish. But often they leave before the gw arrives.

The game warden needs to start taking cars and boats if they want to put a stop to it. Taking a few rods and issuing a ticket will not stop those who feel they have the right to do whatever they wish.

Hit the nail with that hammer!
Worst violators i see at tawakoni are the "good" ol boys

Hooking a fish is like playing string with a cat. The exact size, shape, color of string matters less than how you wiggle it- and little cats are easier to fool than big ones. John Gierach

that's a hoot kodyspapa , but not in a funny way , we stopped in a bait shop during the spawn over there near Tawokoni last year ...kidding around when the ole boy asked what we needed my bud says we just wanna buy some crappie !
he spun around with that busted look and said ...um what ? it was very obvious to both of us that something along those lines was in place there with the "right" or shall we say "wrong" folks ....
but to be sure ....he didn't speak no broken English !
don't stereotype myself much kuz some of the bad guys aint always bad and sum of the good guys aint always good as well

A few years back, a Game Warden showed up at Tawok and confronted a guy about undersized fish. Long story short, the buy got a ticket written and his rods taken. When the ticket was handed to him he made a comment to the warden that it didn't matter because he didn't plan on paying it and he would just leave the United States. (This was a white guy so don't judge) With that statement the warden asked for the ticket back and threw the guy in cuffs. He then loaded the guy up, and took his truck too.

The Wardens don't play! Let them do their job and let the poachers pop off at the warden, just don't get involved with them. The Wardens are trained for years and years on how to handle these situations. It isn't worth my life to confront someone about undersized fish, and you always hear those stories of people getting put in tough situations for confronting someone. I just want to fish, not fight.

They act like they don't speak English, but let me assure you, they understand it perfectly well. Just all the cops on them. I've had confrontations with them about littering, fish size, and number of fish. I'm lucky I didn't get my butt whipped a couple times, its not worth it.

Let make a pledge right now, everybody find out the numbers to your local gamewarden and put them into your phones.

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !
