I had one bad experience with lightning that will last a lifetime. I was in a Bass Tracker bass boat when lightning from a approaching storm cracked a tree 10 yards away. It lit up my boat like a Frankenstein movie clip. Huge white arks jumping from the gunnels to every hinge, screw or seat post. It was buzzing us through our feet and I thought any second we would be dead. The fish were biting on every cast until that moment. We left em biting or dying not sure which.

Lesson Learned

Don't fool with Mother Nature.

Caught a few decent fish in 5-7ft but overall a slower day than yesterday. They definitely stopped pushing shallow

Well, I was fine with the weather. Rain wouldn't have been an issue, and I would have played it safe for the lightning, BUT!!!!

I was prepping my boat, and notice my trolling motor wouldn't power up. I sheared off the pin last week, and replaced the prop with one I found for a good price. It was working on Wednesday. It sat at the storage unit for 3 days, and all of a sudden it isn't working.

I don't plan on fishing a Fork Tournament without a Trolling Motor...

UGH!

I used to laugh at people who go out in thunderstorms just to win something. I don't laugh anymore. Keep doing it, and just maybe you'll get your 15 minutes of fame...in the obituary column.
Sorry for the smack talk, but around here stupid is as stupid does.
