I sure do miss Colorado. Dad has called and reported record snowfall. I lived about three hours NW of Copper Mtn. Little town called Meeker.

We had originally planned on going to Wolfe Creek and Telluride....but with the lack of snow we decided on Copper Mountain last minute. Copper had a 60-90 inch base while Durango, Wolfe Creek, Telluride has 43 inch bases. We stayed in the village and had a great time. The snow was great.

I had never been to copper before. I liked the resort and mountain. The lift lines was my only complaint but the skiing way more than made up for it.

Used to live in the Denver area. Copper was one of my favorite places to ski. I liked layout where the greens were at one end and the blacks were at the other. Moguls bring back alot of (bad) memories. I never was very good at them.

Another place to try is Beaver Creek. Probably my favorite. More expensive but not near as crowded as Summit County resorts.

Skiing is one of those things I used to do. Too old, too fat, too out of shape, too much work.

Durango is supposed to get some serious snow tonight and tomorrow so I am keeping my fingers crossed. Hey blackgoat if I remember correctly last year you went to durango correct.

Makes me more than a little homesick.

I had a summer job working on building the Eisenhower Tunnel back when I was a schoolboy.

Yeah last year we hit, Durango and Wolfe Creek with stops in also Sant Fe and Angel fire. I have to say northern NM and Southern CO got slammed with snow last year but this year not so much.

If Durango does not have alot of snow, go to Wolfe Creek. It's not far from Durango (about 1.5 hr) and they have a 50 inch base.

I have to say when there is snow, Wolfe creek, Purgatory and Santa Fe are my favorites. NO LINES.

I have plenty of photos from Durango last year if you want to see them.
