Blake Wright with a huge Lake Texoma Striper he caught while fishing with me today. This is the largest Striper I have ever had a customer land on a trip with me. We boated about 30 fish today and released 8 overs including this one. I did not have a scale in the boat but we measured this fish at 37 inches with a girth of 25 inches. She was unbelievably fat. We used a conversion chart that put this fish at 28 lbs and 9 ounces. These big fish are going to spawn soon so don't wait to book. Big fish are biting. This fish was only 2 inches shorter than the lake record set in 1984 by Terry Harbour. Great day on Lake Texoma.

John, good talking to you yesterday. Congratulations to both you and your customer. It must of been a epic battle- or I hope it was!
Wow - your "NEW" pattern presentation has these Big Fish targeted for sure! I believe in the quote below and a fish like this one is a great example for all of us to follow in the future. A good reminder that Replicas Trophy mounts from BPS, Cabelas or other companies are the way to go - a few buck more but is worth it to save the life of such a magnificent fish! She will drop a million striper eggs within 30 days it looks like. Those eggs will be beneficial to the gene pool in Texoma.

I can"t wait to get back and go fishing Tuesday.
MagicWand - Let's go Striper fishing on Lake Texoma!!

Thanks for all the positive feedback. Trophy Replica mounts are new to me but definitely going to be doing more of these. I seldom clean fish over 12 lbs. I always encourage anglers to mount them or let them go but replicas let you do both. I was fishing drop offs and ledges with Alabama rigs from 15 to 30 ft of water. It's a big lake but my boat is easy to find and let me tell you I had lots of guys shadowing me out there today. Still caught a limit and threw a couple overs back today up to 10 lbs. but no great big fish today.
