I have a new boat and a couple other new toys, most notably my first FF. My son helped me run the cables & install the ram mount for it Thursday evening. As we installed the transducer (very simple with Hobie's lowrance ready setup) I was explaining to him what it does. He stopped and deadpanned "so you're cheating now?" I just laughed and said heck yeah! Anyhow, I got the new boat slimed real good the first time out last Saturday. Caught a limit of crappie, a few hybrids, 2 lmb, & several sandys. Yesterday, I went out mostly intending to learn how to operate the FF/GPS. Turns out it is almost like cheating. I found several brush piles, could easily see the fish, & could even see my line & jig sometimes! Caught a limit of nice big slabs in about 2 hours. Threw back any less than 11" and caught a couple sandys and a lmb before I had to get off the lake to beat a storm. So far I'm very impressed with the Hobie and the Lowrance HDI grin

Ok my first trip with the Lowrance HDI was not nearly that good, I guess even cheating takes skill

Haha, I'm normally a catch & release guy. But these will get the catch and grease treatment wink. Wife was just asking when to invite friends over.

Hey Jamie is that the new boat from KW? Congrats and welcome to the Hobie family. You're gonna love it! Looks like the mojo is coming along just fine in it.

Wow. That's awesome. Congrats on the stringer and new toys.

Fish eat things. I'll put things in the water that fish like to eat. I'll attach these things to a hook, line, rod, and reel. How hard can this be?
