Recently bought a go pro camera and curious if anyone has used the suction cup mount and how strong it is. Im afraid to leave it mounted while traveling and figured someone here can give me feed back.

I have a friend who has that mount and has it on a motorcycle located on his gas tank and says it has never come off, he also mounted it to the hood of his car, I have a go pro for my boat and I understand your concern because I feel that I will be the one guy where it comes off and lose my go pro.

They scare me but I will say, I've only heard of one coming loose once. If you use one, just tie some fishing line to the case and tie it off on something solid on the boat, that's what a lot of guys do.

I bought the floating back for mine. I use the suction cup on my motor and it's solid as a rock.

They are real strong. Just give it a good tug or two once attached to make sure its seated well.

i have the suction cup and it has never came off. A good $20 addition i bought for mine was the floating back. and not that its ever fallen but if it did it would float so . its a good little $20 safety purchase

I haven't tried it, but do you believe the float back will actually support the weight of the camera, case, and mount? I have my doubts. I plan on placing a tether on it just to provide some added safety. I do know the suction cup mount will hold the camera and mount on at well over 100 mph on cars.

Just tie it up for security... then add a float as well.

We use it on the motor all day to get pictures even while driving. Never had a problem but did purchase the floating attachment to it

dose anyone else feel like they are getting kinda cheaply made, my gopro3 black and silver editions have busted charging ports lock up after latest firmware update and the battery life is terrible, I have 4 extra battery's and the expansion battery pack that for some reason only the black edition will read...for the money I have spent on them I expect them to work

Then I can't stop it from recording unless I pull out the battery. Then it decides to stop recording at random times on other occasions. Not what I expected when I dropped 500.
