only ramp open ( and it may be too shallow now) is at the marina by the Gaylord Texan so not a lot of fishing on the G right now
I am not making any decisions until the bourbon kicks in!

The ramp at the end of Dove Loop was open as recently as a week ago. Not an ideal situation for launching but it could be done if you don't mind getting your feet wet. I've used it twice. As is discussed in numerous postings here recently, there won't be a major run of fish up the creek this year due to low water. Although there is water "in" the creek, there isn't any water between the lake and the creek for the fish to migrate thru. Hence, spawning will take place on windy points, banks and coves, which means a lot on the north side of the lake with the typical south wind blowing.

I launched at the ramp at dove loop on Sunday. The bad thing is that there aren't many ramps open, and it was a long wait for people loading and unloading. If it doesn't get water soon, I will go elsewhere. It will be a really long wait at the few ramps that are open once the ski boats get out there. Also, I didn't stay out too long. It was really windy. I just wanted to run the boat for a little while. I took it back home, and went up to the boat slips and caught some crappie. No sandies for me on Sunday.

Back in the summer of 2006 grapevine was impossible to get on...especially on the weekend. Dove Loop was the only ramp open and the pleasure boaters took about 15 minutes each to launch their boat. The worst part about it was the Sandie's were on fire at grapevine that summer. I remember on afternoon it was 106 at 2pm and I was catching Sandie's left and right but I had to go in because it was so darn hot!

I've been bank fishing along the north side a few times lately, but no luck. Maybe this weekend?
I saw a few jumpers the last couple weeks, probably largemouth, but nothing that would bite.
