I did man that bank was steep and slippery , then throw in a howling in the face wind as a small distraction and of course GIANT CRAPPIE in the white caps on the bank ....pretty easy to get wet for me

I said yep no problem brother ...then he was laughing , then he was in awe as the monster crappie male fish broke the water with a complete cartwheel ! man did he have fight like a black bass yawl ,what a brute on an ultralite ....line snapped on the hoist and I almost went for my second swim a the day
well I told him there might be some really large fish in this location , spot one didn't produce even a peck
spot 2 and we proceeded to give em heck ...now mind when ya when first fish a the day looks this and you say hey bro we aint keepin right ? he sez .....um well ....maybe just string it up in just case ?
ok then on the stringer it goes and I tell him its a long way back to the truck bro an I got this feeling

As for the swim don't feel bad. I took an unexpected swim in Lake Amistad a couple of years ago!

now mind ya I didn't go all the way in ...
just over the top of the knee high la crosse rubber boots to bout my thighs
a lil cold and time to empty the boots
so on I trudged ...er um sloshed ....
ketchn a few crappie fish
all nice solid keeppers
with a whale here and there
just don't git much better brother ....
the wind was very bad
but the ketchn was very good

the mix seemed to be about 2 to 1 males to females
my bud lost 2 very large fish ...one maybe bigger then the large sow I managed
he wasn't to terribly upset though...just gave me that look when the jig pulled out
and she swirled one last time on top
we ketched most under floats and some free jigging as well
1 to 3 fow river cane slab bandits and what I chose for the day
the trip to the truck went kinda slow ...man the stringer was heavy for an ole man
at a half limit plus of large fish they tend to be that way
so around 13 or so we hit the road ...the after 5 folks needed sum space right ?
we probably stayed a couple of hours at that spot
maybe released 6 to 8 iffy fish
he lost 2 biggies
but he did manage a pretty good carp
and sum yella bass as well
pretty darn fun yawl

like I said brother "reeel men" will do that at times
as I went in sliding down the bank further and further I thunk ,,,come on bottom

funny thing about this adventure crapicat is I aint been to this lake in about 8 months
I could hit it a lot more but due to the crowd pressure I kinda leave it to the masses
we had it to ourselves for about 2 hours yesterday and when I was giving up my report
my bud sez ya know about the ONLY time it aint getting hammered is midweek
sure are some pretty fish in there ,,,large and in charge they are ....
so now we are havin us an ugly do contest
wish I was younger ,,,kuz I don't have much to do with anymore
