I've done this trip a couple times and never had much luck with the fish but like you said at least the scenery is good. The river has been flowing around 20 all winter so glad you had some better water for your trip.

Very nice Josh, how many Growlers were you able to pack in the kayak?

Looks like you guys had fun for sure.

No growlers, though we did wish we packed a few beers for the evenings. We had flasks of TX Whiskey to sip on. cheers

Nice man. Not much beats a multi-day river trip if you ask me. Obviously the Devil's was incredible but they're all a blast. The 3-day float down the Red River we did last year was awesome. There's no better way to truly immerse yourself in nature and get the full kayak fishing experience than actually living out of the yaks. Great photos bud.

Cool story and great pics!!!

I did my cooler/rod holder a month or so ago thinking "ain't no one has done this". Then I read cooler/rod holder and think "no way", "couldn't be" and click the link. Now I'm bummed knowing I'm a couple years behind. Oh well I better go buy myself something to cheer me up.

Great write up, Josh. Looks like a fun trip despite the slow bite. I've never actually paddled past Fortune Bend myself. Gotta fix that some day.

This sounds like an awesome time! I wonder if this will even be possible in July or if the river would be so shallow that it would take away from the trip?
