The wife and I were down in Houston visiting my son. We decided to do a couple of the touristy things. We took a short trip over to visit the Battleship Texas and the San Jacinto Memorial. I had not been to the the battleship since I was a youngster, which was way to many years ago to brag about. (50) This is the 100th anniversary since the commissioning of the Texas.

Here are a few pics from the battleship, and one from the observation tower of the San Jacinto Monument. It was a foggy drizzly morning, which made the distance shots fuzzy.

went there with the kids for boy scouts, years ago. Spent the night had breakfast there. We learned lots about the history of the ship. Being the small area where the loading of the turrets/big guns took place, it was amazing that people where able to work. Lots of respect for our veterans. The Lexington is another must see tour when you are in that area.
