What's your opinion on the meat of the 2 species? Is one tastier than the other? I've always wondered, but never paid close attention while eating them. 
To fish or not to fish... That is no question to be asking. FISH!

black crappie are definitely the firmer flesh of the 2 species they seem a bit more perch like to me on taste white crappie seem to have immense amounts of fish oils and are very tender it is one of those things that depends totally on your preference what defines some of it is the preferred food sources of the 2 species I like both myself , but I am sure there are other opinions as well

I just flat out love them both...finding, fishing, catching, and eating...hence the name...crapicat....

I like filletin a black a lot better than a white ! Can't tell differnce in taste.

I never really thought about it. I usually fillet them all together, and never know which is which, but they all are good.
