back in a cove on lake waco where i normaly crappie and bass fish it is crazy full of carp, i mean CRAZY FULL there rolling on top all over, the lakes high and tons of flooded brush and plants. there all in it splashing around like bulls in china cabnets, whats the best tequniqe for catching them in these situations, i tried throwing some nightcrawlers on a slip cork right while i was crappie fishing hoping one bit but no takers, id apreciate some advice on something else to try, thanks, just fishing for fun i fish from a kayak and want to hook into a good fighting fish.

Those will be early spawning carp. You cannot catch them when they are spawning like that.

Bow and arrow seems to work pretty good when they are up shallow like that.

Just wade in the shallows and wait on the males to herd the females to you. You can net or gig them all day long.

I convinced my brother to jump on about a 30-40 pound carp last year during the spawn. It beat the [censored] out of him before it swam away.

Snagging is illegal in Texas for game and nongame fish.

We used to bait an area with cattle cubes as they sink and dissolve, Then made a dough bait out of cubes after soaking in water then adding syrup and flour until it would mold and stay on a treble hook.
