What do ya think...? be to heavy? Concerned about the additional weight and how it could affect the hole shot. Have a 115 merc.

probley add 80 to 100 lbs of weight. Try adding cement blocks or sand backs and go test run it. YOu should be fine on the hole shot

Sound like good advice.

Have you guys that have dual power poles noticed a drop in top end from the wind drag on the poles as you are running? I do everything I can to make my boat faster and really would rather not make it slower.

12' Minn Kota Talon ~ 47.5 lbs
47.5 x 2 = 95

Add about 20lbs per bracket.
20 x 2 = 40lb

95 lbs + 4 lbs = 135lbs

You should be able to carry that weight. It will effect your top end and holeshot if you do nothing to your prop. It will probably require you to shift some weight to the front and have Steve add some cup to your prop plus vent holes.

Fill your livewells and add 16 gallons of water to your bilge to simulate the weight. Water weighs about 8.34lbs per gallon so 16 gallons of water weighs about 135lbs. Full livewells will simulate how it will work on tournament day. If you fish with a coangler take one along when testing performance.
