Want to fish lake worth after work, should I go deep or 2 to 5 feet, any help would be great

We've been catching channel cats in the 4 to 6ft water and the blues in about 10 to 12, I've been marking fish in the deeper water but not been able to get them to hit as much, the more aggressive fish are coming shallower for me. Been using fresh cut bait on a Santee Cooper set up.

Did not say but im shore bound ,know where to go to go deep or a big flat that is 2to 6 feet deep so thanks for the information a will give it a try
