grand-dad had'em but he had spanish goats and lions love goats. Most Ranchers dont seen them because lions are nocturnal and people are not.

My wife & I saw one in the Sabine river bottom on the Louisiana side. No camera but wish I had had one as he crossed the road in front of us and then stopped and looked over his shoulder at us and then disappearded into the thicket.

I work with a hunting/fishing guide here in san antonio who was dear hunting with his 14yr old son a few days ago. During the hunt his son became more interested in hunting rabbits. While stalking one he unknowingly got between a rabbit that was being hunted by a bobcat. This offended the Bobcat who then tryed to blindside the youngster. At the last minute the kid heard the cat spun around and fired killing the cat and saving hisself from a for sure attack. It Scared the living hell out of him and when dad heard the shot a came a running he found his son in a total state of shock! These guys are cajuns and very, very experienced hunters of all kinds of game. Lesson learned in hunter awareness!

I have seen two different ones near Gordon and I saw a half grown cub below P.K. dam on a place we hunted. One of the ones near Gordon had a den near where I hunted. I was young, dumb and full of it so I crawled up into her den one day. Flash light in one hand and 357 in the other. I do not know what would have hapened if we had come across each other.

While working with several other people at Big Bend Ranch SNA some years ago, we drove and hiked to a canyon that had (reputedly) the highest or second highest waterfall in Texas. Moving down the canyon to the falls, we saw and heard a couple of very agitated hawks screaming and diving around but never saw what disturbed them.

We got to the brink of the falls, took photos, had lunch, did our work, etc. After returning home and getting our film developed, one of our party had photographed the head of a mountain lion peeking over a bush, on the very steep wall of the canyon past the falls, probably 20 yards away. We never even saw it, but it was a heck of a photo.

I guided in Colorado for several years and while driving clients over a pass outside Silverthorne a big one came running down the mountain crossed the road at full sprint right in front of my truck, never paused and dissappeared down the mountain. He was moving fast so I jumped out of the truck and ran to the side of the road to look down to see if I could see him but he was gone. I was truly in awe at how big he was. My clients were a father and son and had shut and locked my truck when I jumped out. After convincing them he was gone they let me back in and we headed to the river. Once there I had one heck of a time getting them out of the truck even though we driven for 30 more miles. I talked with lots of locals that had lived there all their lives and had never seen one.

I saw a big one crossing a the road near a creek three years ago.

Pretty amazing site.

It was close to the Lake Texoma dam, in Texas.

Seen one crossing a wheat field in Burk Burnett about a month ago near a creek bed. Very close to the Red River. Had always heard people seeing them near there, but was scepticle until recently.
