Going to try Fork for the first time this coming saturday. My buddy has a place in Winnsboro so we will be launching on the east side of the lake. Never been there so looking for some pointers as to what to try right now and where to try and key in on fish. Any info u feel like sharing that is honest and helpfull would be greatly appreciated.
I live on the east side of houston about 5 plus hours from there and have only one day to fish fork so I could really use some productive information.
Thanks Jim

Yep that would be a good reason. Don't think it will change my friends mind since we will be at his place and using his boat. But I will let him know and keep that in mind.

Athens has just gotten too much pressure. Had a fair day Sunday, caught 12 in 6 hours but nothing like other reports in the days before. 8 boats in the little cove we were fishing. It's just too much. I would love to try them again this weekend but will probably look elsewhere.

There are fish on beds everywhere on Fork right now. If you put in at 515 east public ramp just run across the lake to the first pocket below the bridge, drop the trolling motor and start looking for a big-un. The trick to finding the big-un is don't try to catch every fish you see. There are 5 decent sized coves between 515 east and 154, you will find at least 1 good fish in one of them.

That is true pee paw but trouble is you can't go 50 ft without having to go around a boat- lol. Make that 20 feet this weekend. Poor Athens as well. However, if I was going to Athens tomorrow I would do just that- somebody may get a giant there tomorrow, it's due.

Thanks for the information. Going to weigh our options. This is the second time I have tried to come fish fork. Fisrt time a nasty cold front was coming through with 35 mph north winds. We headed south to fish. Now this super size tourney. Not meant to be I guess
