Got out with a buddy of mine on the kayaks and fished the Lower Colorado. Had tons of fish to hand and even had some sunshine towards the end of our float.

im throwing big stuff and in crawfish colors. I have heard that top water bite is picking up.

I can't wait to fish the Lower Colorado! I'm planning a trip down right now.

When the water level is good its a great river to fish. I am lucky and live a stones throw from the Colorado at Smithville

For those of you with fancy cable packages, there will be a 2-part series on fly fishing the Colorado on the Pursuit Channel on the show "Chasing Waters" coming up at the end of this week or next week. Myself and a few friends guided the film crew down the river just above 973 two weeks ago, we thought we'd just be guiding them, but my friends ended up doing all the fishing and getting the film time. The following day they met up with someone else to fish a part of the Colorado further down. I guess things were slow on the Guad and San Marcos the days prior, so they were stoked to catch tons of fish on the Colorado. There was the film crew's drift boat and 5 guys in kayaks and we all caught great fish.
