I just booked a trip for a couple days of fishing on Cedar Creek. I'm looking for recommendations for hotels or lodges. I'm taking my father and my 2 boys.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks!!!

There is a Comfort Inn at 175 and highway 198 on the north side of the road. It is just past the high school. Might be your best choice for your Dad and the boys. Easy to get to the lake from there and puts you on the north side of town where most of the shopping and restaurants are. Also an easy shot into Athens and to the hatchery if time permits.

Kammans exxon on the corner of 198 and 3054 has some rooms beside it. Dont know that I would call it a motel, but the rooms are just like motel rooms. Close to the lake and only about 5 minutes from one of the best ramps on the lake at Log Cabin. 903-489-1268 is their #. The station has just about anything needed as well as a grill for hamburgers etc... There are a couple of motels in Gun Barrel City also.

LaQunita in Gun Barrel City is nice if you're looking for that.

Nice thing about Kamman's is you park the whole rig out outside your door.

I was over there today looking around. Four ramps are closed: Causeway Marina, Big Chief Landing, Summer Glen Marina, and RH Lee Park.

If you are fishing the south end, where most of the ramps are open, than Countryside Inn off of 31 near Malakoff. Decent motel and great price at $50 for a double.
