I took some screen shots with my HDS-7 gen2 touch this week. My question to the group is can i just load them into an SD card then transfer them to my Apple computer and then to photo bucket or do I need a special program on my computer to process the images?

That's exactly how you do it. I don't know a thing about Apple computers but, that's what you do for a windows based system.

Everybody says that Lowrance units are harder to operate than HB, this is the only thing that I've found so far that owns up to that reputation.
No you don't have to have any special software, but getting them loaded to the SD card is a trick - lOL

What Todd said....sorta! It's really not a trick but it is a multi-step process! I copied & pasted the steps onto a Word doc & printed it (along with several other things I wanted easy access to) then cut each topic out & laminated them. NOW, IF I COULD JUST REMEMBER WHERE I PUT THEM ON THE BOAT! I'll have all the instruction's I need!

rolfmao Anything that is a multi-step process is a TRICK for me hammer
Nice idea on the laminated card Pepop! Cause I still scratch my head when attempting to remember how to load images on the SD card and which card to upload them on, as the screen that you select which card does not exactly tell which one is the map card or the blank SD card!

No problem getting them on the SD card but, getting them into Photobucket and onto the forum is difficult to say the least!

Pepop, the cover on the new manuals are already laminated so you can just throw the whole thing in your boat.
Todd, it's really easy with the new Touch. Just touch the powerkey and the pagekey at the same time to save a screenshot. Then go to the files menu and select download to an SD card in either SD card slot on the Touch. Then remove the SD card and put it in your computer. I don't know how it could get any easier.

why the photo bucket step? why not just straight from pc to site?
Its not that Lowrance is hard to use its the H-Birds are less confusing for a beginner first time user to operate without getting lost and confused.

Dieago, the photo has to be stored on the web somewhere then coded with the photo's web address. That's just how it works on these forum's

I just upload them straight from my phone or pc. I never use photobucket.

Pepop, there's a new feature that was added last time they updated the site. 5th icon from the left when you are in reply screen. Looks like a floppy disc with an arrow up.

If you have a smart phone, you can do the same thing straight from your phone
