I have a tourney coming up in a few weeks on Leon and have never seen the lake before. Looking for some help and any hazards I need to know about. Not looking for honey holes just general info. Thanks

I've only been there once, but it was a tournament. I never left the area around the dam and caught a good limit with a 7 1/2 pound kicker. I have always wanted to go back, just haven't had a chance. It is a good lake with all types of habitat. Sorry I can't tell you more.

I've fished there once last June in a club tourney. There is some quality fish in the lake my largest went just over 5. As said fish around the dam. Also fish around the docks as they will hold some fish. My biggest fish was 3/4 oz jig and most all the others were on whacky rigged natural shad senko.

I have never been, but I'm pretty sure I heard that the lake is actually full. Kinda surprising considering lakes around it are about to dry up. Don't go off what I say I could be imagining that, but I thought I read that on here.

If fished it for the first time last season. Only went there because Hubbard Creek was too low and OFF! The creek arm that runs back south that has a bridge at the end of it, is the best one in my opinion. All the fish I caught back there were keepers. Use a spinnerbait with a big silver blade and crankbaits. Also the cut that is just West of there are good. Has some good grass there. Not sure about this early. Caught many good fish there last year, didn't even know the lake. I was only there 1 day. Love the lake.

Contact Terry Rose, he can fill you in on the lake as he is very close to it and fishes it often.
Tell him Fred sent ya....maybe a coke/coffee...lOL
I have to pass along my find of a great bunch of folks and a fine young man, Terry Rose, Outdoor Specialties - Eastland, Texas!
If you don't mind a drive, some 90 miles west from Ft Worth, or taking time to make a phone call, think you might find the pontoon, Ranger or Stratos rig your looking for! He has added a BUNCH of pontoons as well.
Decide for yourself, internet: http://www.outdoorspecialtiestx.com/ make a phone call Terry . Great folks out in the country and think you might be pleasantly surprised.
Look around, I sure did - A LOT! There are a lot of choices out there...but this was a diamond in the finding.
I don't work for them or get anything from this but, thought I should share this to new or older fishermen/women.
Like what you see on the web site, then give them a call (254) 629-8877, please tell them Fred sent ya'll.
I am a very new/old soon to be fisherman and they were VERY helpful and honest! Good/bad or ugly, they will give you the truth - hard to find these days!
Thought I should pass along a GREAT EXPERIENCE !

It did fill up last year but now it is about 3-4 feet low.

Fished a club tourney there last weekend. Tough for us. Very few caught and nothing over 2 and a half. Solid stumps from the river bridge to the main lake. I idled all the way and still hit a few stumps. Points near deep water then. I would fish the main lake near the dam.
