yesterday was one of those days , a bit windy but beautiful to say the least . I tried in the trinity at lunch for a bit for crappie . I got something to sink my float and hooked up for a second , I think it may have been a bream . so I took out a pc of my breakfast bagel and chummed in a few kitty fish . I figured well at least I can feel something pull on my rod a bit !
had 4 takes hooked 3 ....mist one and about lost my dang rod !
boy the one I mist hit like a train ...ketched me offguard for sure

well silly me thunk that's ok , I am gunna get some a my buds together and we are gunna go put a smack down on em in the dark . I knew ...key word ...knew .....where a good bite was the last few days . so I called the troops and we assembled along with most of the metromess it is a big secret where they are biting ya know ......we struggled to say the least ....I did manage my favorite ever , have to ketch one real pretty .....YELLA BASS ....
thank goodness for them lil fellas ,,,than kan sure save the day or um night

now don't get all depressed just yet ....when I say they were NOT bitng ...
I mean not very well ....I did actually ketch 2 crappie
and my buds ketched a few as well ....but to be sure ....
I need to apologize for draggin everyone out on a NON bite nite
maybe next time yawl ?.....
we had this conversation the other day about spots and how it could be really good one day
and or even the same day ....
and go south just like that !
in the end and again what iz iz and what wuz wuz ....
and now I am under house arrest until further notice .....LOL

Sounds like you had to work for em. Good job on finding what you caught! Also love those Catfish fights on light tackle.

Glad you managed a few crappie last night. I went out to test my boat/FF and drop some more piles and then hit the LL 35 bridge but only managed one bite in a hour or so.

Don't feel bad for me though, feel bad for my partner. He didn't have a single bite.

Good job Ketchn and hope you can take a little ribbing. Hope the meet you some time and maybe drop a jig or two.

cant ketchm all the time but at least you caught 2

we think they do in fact eat craapie eggs .....
my buds just killed the living you know what out of them crappie fish at tawokoni last weeken
and they were in very shallow timber ...3 fow ....every other fish was a channel cat in the timber with them ....
seems to be a reasonable assumption it aint just carp eatin eggs ...
this would be one of the reasons crappie slam jigs in the beds as well ....
we even think bream do a bit of it as well ...
lots a egg eaters havin fun right now up shallow with them crappie

he is surely an ugly thing ...and that ole beat up male channel cat wasn't so pretty either

they are a bit of fun on light tackle ....
