Had some decent luck fishing in the rain last year. Was all pumped to head out this afternoon and then see this story.....hmmm. If you have not seen this story over in the freshwater section you need to read it. Thanks to Nocona for posting it. The season is starting be careful out there guys. As the auth states, sometimes there is no warning.

Here is his description of the incident.

F that man. I've fished down to 20 degrees, and up to 108. I've fished in pouring rain, freezing cold, and blazing heat. But I don't mess with Thor. Lightning bolts come out, El Butto runs for cover.

Thats scary. Worst I was ever in was on Fork. My brother and I fishing an island just north of the damn. Had rained about 15 minutes on the hour all day, then we see some clouds come in, before we could reel in and I started on the trolling motor the lightening started. Cranked the motor and beached on the island. We were both on our knees as low as we could be and it sounded like shotguns going off every 5 seconds. Scared the carp out of me. Not something I want to be in again!

Not when it is that bad. But when it passes I will be there waiting with that orange spinner bait.
