Just bought my first yak. It's got what I think is an anchor trolly installed and it came with an anchor. Can anyone tell me how the heck it's supposed to work? It's mounted on the starboard side of the boat and has a 2" ring that looks like it could move from front to aft of the kayak.
I'm a little overwhelmed at just how many accessories I was given with the yak so your input would be much appreciated.

Pretty simple. You should have two anchor points at each end of the kayak, with the rope running through them. And a ring in the middle of the rope. Attach your anchor, drift sock, or stake out pole to the ring. You can then slide the ring to the front, back, or anywhere in between to position the yak. If you want the wind at your back, or to face down stream, put the anchor to the rear of the yak. It will naturally spin and face down stream or down wind.
Make sense?

Makes sense. Is this on the left what you are speaking of?

In fact, looks like you've got a Nucanoe Frontier...a 12, I would guess. I have the same thing in Lime green.

Also, it has rails down each side, is there a contraption that would allow me to mount a fish finder/GPS? If so, what fish finder would you recommend?

Depends on what your talking about. In the picture, there is a stand up bar..pretty obvious what thats for. You also have the "freedom track" which is just NC version of a gear track. Mount whatever you like to this..just use a ram ball with a T-bolt on the bottom. Keep in mind though, its not designed for heavy loads. If your going to be catfishing, I wouldn't expect that freedom track to hold up to a 30 pound cat. I've mounted additional gear tracks that are more substantial for that. Might want to check out Nucanoe's forum. http://www.nucanoe.com/forum/ Good group of guys and more information that you can absorb. It's not nearly as busy as this forum, but its 100% Nucanoe.

Nice video, yes it is a 2013 NuCanoe, the guy spent way too much on it but it was in my favor. It has probably way too much on it. I have not taken it out yet but want to take it to the same lake and become comfortable with it. By looking at it, I am thoroughly impressed with the quality and stability. I was recently diagnosed with MS and due to my imbalance problems I had to sell the bass boat and this should be much easier to launch and load.

Sorry to hear about the MS. The NC has great stability. Have you been able to watch any of the videos on it? There is one with a guy sitting on the side gunnel with his legs in the water and it wont roll.
The lake in the video is Marine Creek Lake off of 820. Great lake for getting familiar with a yak. No stumps to speak of...low traffic, even on the weekends. People swim in it all the time.
Loading and unloading will definitely be easier than your bass boat, but its not as easy as some of the other yaks on the market. Because of the size, the NC is a little heavy. If you have concerns about doing it by yourself, I would look at the transom mount cart. It should make it easier to load. There are instructions on the NC forum on how to make one from parts at HD. A new one, from NC, will run you about 120.00. The HD one works as well as the NC one, and is $38.00 for all the parts. Takes about 20 minutes to put together.
