Wow, I lived in Benbrook since 93, recently moved to Denton.very rarely got skunked on that lake.
try trolling by the RC airplanes
then there's a caliche point @ mustang
then the humps in front of Richardson slough
they are no secret.
I just trolled until I caught something or graphed fish then kick a marker bouy out
and try and stay on top of it
sometimes those fish want those slabs just barley off the bottom.
trolling is just to find fish.Definetly wanna feel that Sandy/Hybrid thump.
my 2cents good luck.

Thanks Lewisvillan. I have tried most of those places, and we usually catch one or two at most. When people say the airplane field, are they talking about the one up on the northwest side of the lake or one down near rocky point?

Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day. Teach him how to fish, he'll be gone every weekend.

The air plane field will be on the left as you or going straight towards the dam.

Wish I could tell ya exactly where to go to load the boat. But..... Being honest as I can, it has been slow. A few here and there for me. With the early and extended winter, my numbers have been off. To say the least. I'm assuming here, but will be a week or so before it "kicks" into gear on Benbrook. Heck, even my winter dead sticking didn't produce like in the Previous years. Water got colder than I've seen in a couple years and has stayed cold for the most part. I have pushed back trips because of that. I have heard some of the Benbrook regulars have caught a few good hybrids, but I haven't been out much. I will be out this weekend and will post about it.... Good or bad as always.

Have fun Sunday... I plan on being out too, but early forecast is showing 5/15 south winds( rule of thumb, add them together) with gusts of 25 and possibility of 30 mph gusts out of the south. If that hold true, have fun with that [censored]. grin

The water is probably around 60deg--trolling is not the best-and possibly the worst advice. driving around at 3-4 mph hoping to snag a fish isnt the most productive method.

For sandbass its a very productive method.the guy is trying to catch fish.
How about helping him out!!!;;!!
besides guessing @ water temp..
what lake is 60' @ the moment???
and you can't be a Jedi and a Ninja!
and I be caught sandbass @ 55 mph on my jet ski.
no thats Productive.
Trolling speaks for itself. Method for finding fish not catching fish.

I'm not looking to find fish. I already know where they are at. I'll spend my time catching them and leaving the driving around to you. Besides-I'm not interested in sandbass or yellow bass. You can have all of those you want. Leave the hybrids to me.
