Finally decided to install the lights and once I got them in I wondered what I was waiting for. They look bad to the bone and way brighter. Thanks to Mr. Mark Perry for his post a while back explaining how he did the install. Took no time at all and another member answered any questions I had while installing for reassurance. So thanks for the helpful post and lending a helping hand when needed. If you are thinking about doing it just trust yourself and go to town. Just remember "measure twice, cut once" Here is some pics of mine. I did them 12" from the nose [/URL [URL=http://s1359.photobucket.com/user/K-strait23/media/image_zps4871c774.jpg.html]

Dang that looks great! Are they inset in the rub rail?
Next time I'm in town and you're around, I'll get you to do mine. I'll buy the material and the refreshments, how's that?
As much trouble as I've had with my front light, I sure need something like that!

That sounds like a plan to me, sir!
Yes I just used a utility knife with the razor blade. Measured 12" back from the nose then set the led strip on the rub rail outline it with a pencil and make your cut. Use a small drill bit to get the wires through. You can just use the adhesive that they come with bc they set back in so good they are not going any where. Tie into your wires (leaving the old light still hooked up for a back up) and you are good to go.

I'm just curious, but can these nav lights be seen from 90* of the boat, like normal nav lights?
It looks as if the lights may not throw light to the side of the boat, as they are mounted around on the radius of the bow.

Kolby, have you ever met Mark Perry? Great guy. Think he may stop by my place Saturday eve, so you'll get a chance to thank him in person.
Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

I showed pictures of mine to a game warden on Lake Lavon and he said that they looked to be legal to him. I explained what I/Kolby did and he didn't quite understand and I showed him a picture and the first word out of his mouth was Awesome!
you know, nothing wrong with seven men who met on the internet going for a swim together
