Ive been fishing lake worth nature center all the way up to Vance camp to eagle mountain lake dam. sand-bass are done an all im catching are dinks. usually at this time i'm fishing the banks at Ray Roberts but iv been watching water temperatures. my key, to hit it the water is usually with three days of steady weather and 60 degree water temp. i'm wanting to try the creeks in my kayak. can anyone tell me where to launch an go. if anyone's familiar with Vance's camp i'm looking for some creeks like that at Ray Roberts

Yea, I was gonnna say the exact same thing... If you are in the Pilot Point area why not drive over to the Buck Creek Access and then fish underneath the Train bridge? I fished out of my kayak last weekend on Saturday from 630-8 and caught my limit within that hour and a half. Just fish close to the concrete pillars and BOOM! Dinner is served! They were tearing my jig up about 6-10 feet down. I have also done really well on the rocks over there from the bank, but that has been a while ago when the lake was higher and before I got the yak. Either way this has always been a fool proof spot for me. At the time they were tearing up my Cajun Cricket Jig and I didn't ever really need to switch, but that and a Berkley fish attractant I picked up from Wal-Mart served me well. Either way I hope that you have some luck in your fishing adventures. Blake

Yeah , I would cause you never really can tell with those guys out there. Best place to go for minnows in that area Is the Dam Store you can get .5 a pound of small minnows for like 7 or 9 bucks I forget also the buck creek store which is right across the way. Before you land the boat so that is an option also. Everywhere else in Pilot Point isn't that good for minnows IMHO. Anyways I hope you get on em.

There's minnows at the Valero just north of Pilot Point on 377 if that's your route.

Good to know. I haven't been there in years, but would feel like a dick if I didn't mention it and the dam store was out of his way. I'm very biased of the dam store TBH way better minnows from there than anywhere else in or near pilot point IMO.
