All I tie is a palomar with my Seaguar InvisX

Unless joining to a braid mainline then I go with the double uni to join and a palomar to my bait

I use a uni knot on all things flouro. I can tie it in the dark in my sleep and I've yet to have one break including 12# line on a extremely mad 20# carp yesterday that ruined my day lol.

flourocarbon line "cuts" into itself when you use a Palomar knot...it's about an 80% knot strength.....use an improved Trilene knot....near 100% knot strength

I use InvisX & palomar exclusively and break off VERY little, as in 5-10 fish a year, MAX

I have caught "a few" over 10 pounds on 10-15# Seaguar InvisX

Anyone who breaks it is probably slack line hook setting trying to cross a fishes eyes, when in reality your only creating a larger hole in the hooks penetration point causing a fish to jump off easily

I think it's about wetting the know down. I use a trilene for anything under 10lb and an improved cinch knot for bigger. No problems and you literally have to tie to a boat clear to break 15ln invizx haha. Sometimes I may pull up a brush pile before the hook straightens out.

Uni or palomar work great on flouro ... Just make sure to wet and take your time cinching the palomar down

I use a Palomar on 8 lbs mono and haven't had any problems. Just make sure your line isn't twisted at the knot be for you cinch it down, and pull both the main line and tag end at the same time. If you only pull one part of the line, the other part will be curled and weak. I don't like any friction on light line so I hold my knot underwater to cinch it.

The whole nonsense about floro cutting into itself simply isn't true, provided the knot is tied properly. Most people end up with an unwanted half twist in the line when they tie one and THAT is what cuts into the line. If it's tied properly, the palomar is one of the strongest knots you can tie.

Knot wars has Palomar and Trilene as 100% knots and equals with mono and fluoro...... I use the Trilene because it's easier for me to tie with big baits
