No reasone to switch reels. C3's are really good. if you have no problems with them, then stick with them. they will stick with you....IMO....

I recently bought a 6500cs pro rocket and it is great! They are still made in Sweden and are great quality. I took it down to the coast and used it for surf fishing and was impressed with the casting distance and how smooth it was even after being out in the salt and sand.

6500 S is a new configuration and a 5.1 gear ratio they sell them at Academy. Made in Taiwan and China of Swedish components... Witht he exception fhte BCK and the One Series, they will all break even the C3's...
Tear apart and replace drag washers every other year.
The biggest culprit for failure in any ABU rell is htet people do not release the tension on the drag washers especially the flex drag washers.
If you do not want those let me know I would be interested in buying them from you. I will gut them put a ceramic pawl and bearings, carbon Tex drag washers and they will be good to go.

The "S, SX, and STX" reels from Abu are NOT made at the Swedish plant. Too many issues with the last line of reels that weren't made at the Swedish plant. Keep that in mind. Steven
