I'm not sure if it's the long cold winter that Texas has just gone through, and we're starting to see cabin fever finally being released, but there are already some situations with respect on the water that are getting bad. Let's not let this be the year someone finally does something un fixable on the water?
There has always been the "nobody better ever get on my hole" talk, and for the most part, it's always been talk. I personally have a friend that years ago got into an altercation on the water, and the other guy, much bigger, got in his boat on the water and beat on him pretty good, broke his windshield and threatened to break all his rods. Way too far.
Now it looks like people are actually pulling guns. This is un acceptable, and I would hope that every one can take a deep breath, realize you live in what is arguably the best bass fishing state in the U.S., be appreciative you even are on the water, and let these actions by some people go, get it in front of the proper authorities if there's a weapon and threat involved, and get back to enjoying your time on the water.
I'm currently not able to even get on the water, so I have a little bit of a different view. I have fished at least 3 weekends a month for 2 years straight and now my job has me where I can't do that. I had 2 fun days at PK with Brent Homan's group last September, then 4 days at Ft. Gibson in October. My next time on the water was 4 days on Sam Rayburn in February, and my next trip will be sometime in June. Point is, being away from being able to enjoy bass fishing has shown me just what a privilege it is. There is absolutely nothing that is worth messing up a day on the lake letting some inconsiderate actions by others ruin your day.
Enjoy your time on the water. Everyone of us has a certain amount of days in this world, God knows the last day, we don't. Every day wasted is just that, wasted.
Keep the Lord in your heart and keep your powder dry. 5:5

Excellent, timely post. Any day on the water in search of Mr. Bass is a great one. None of us has tomorrow guaranteed.
