I'm having a hard time with a local pond I've seen 2 crappie caught out of it last year but haven't caught anything myself it's a good size pond will a couple of fish mean it's full of them or is there anyways along with fishing to find out if there are any more

Good question! This time of year try putting a sliding float 36" above a white jig. Cast this rig down a shore line and bring it back real slow. Do this around the pond, if you can. If there are any more crappie in the pond, you oughta catch em. fish

I have a pond just acros the street from my apartments and I killed the crappie last September and I have yet to catch 1 this year out of the pond have done well on the North side of Texoma but that pond has got me stumped right now....

some of the smaller water bodies heat up fast
and some of them don't
it may just be a matter of a week or so
keep after them ....

Caught one outta there yesterday but that's it and that was caught on a spinnerbait by my buddy fishing for bass I have no idea what to think!!

OK have a pond stock with 400 crappie. I'll guess 1/2 were bait for bass that are in it. I pull some bass out. Last year in the summer I was catching them and the were 11 inches. This year I plan on keeping what I catch. They have had time to span the last few years. Well here is the point I fish 3 times this year and have caught 1 crappie or bass. Sounds like they die but I know the havent. I'm think the weather has them messed up or the spawning fish has make plenty of food for them. So I agree with you all this has been crazy. I would put money on in the next month or so they will be bitting just cant believe I havent caught any.

I think I'm gonna try what Pappa john reccomended today hopefully I have some luck it's killing me I'm not catching I also live by a cove but I feel the waters far to shallow under the docks
