I recently moved to MO and fishing these lakes is a bit different. Seems like the rock in these waters (table rock, shoals, norfork, ect) is a lot sharper then the rock down home. My 15# invizx is starting to break off on me even after i retie. I do the normal steps to help the line out. Conditioner, wet it when clinching the knot, and even dont clench the knot as tight now. wanted to ask a few question to you guys.
1. Do you think 15# is strong enough for a "big hook set" type of person. 2. do you think the rocks here are causing more problems then down home (Hubbard, Lavon, Fork). 3. Would it be better to switch to 17 or 20 line to help with the issue? 4. should i switch to abrazx or tatsu to help with the sharper rock up here?
Seems like any review you read on floro is so up and down!
Thanks Guys!

is it the rocks, or the knot? try a double san diego knot first.. if that doesnt help, them move to abrasx.

I use 15lb Invizx on several rods and have never had an issue. I do store my rods indoors and I also change my line every few months depending on use.
Take a kid fishing today.....

zman, all rods are stored in doors. how the heck do you get 3 months out of floro? seems like im re spooling every 2 weeks. getting a little pricy lol.
dont think it is at the knot. i was talking about breaking off so i felt my line and felt a kink about 8 inches up from the hook. cut off about 1.5 feet and retied. bout 5 cast later it broke on me.

any kinks in flouro, even from a backlash- are weak spots. it's one of the only negatives in using flouro.
try Izorline XXX Copoly in 15#.. i have slowly switched some of my rigs and have not noticed a decline in bites... and it's a lot more forgiving

For what it's worth, Walmart has it on sale for $16-17 on their website.

if its a clean break and not curly-qued, then the rocks could be shearing it. As far as the knot, flouro can be its own worst enemy. I don't know the knot's name, but the one shaw grigsby teaches is the best hands down. I switched to that knot 5 years ago and have not had it break on me ever. Also check your guides. I had a ceramic pop out and after awhile my line looked like cotton candy.

I have had the same problem with it and heard brought up here a few times with people defending it to the end. My son in law talked me into trying red label and love it. I don't know about you but I can't afford to buy a spool of line and wonder if it is gonna break every time I set the hook. Red label and I don't worry.

I have used red label before. I do like it but the sensitivity of invizx is way ahead of red label.
I have noticed the curly cue a time or to. Normally I retire if that happens. No guides are messed up.
I'm gonna go to 17# and try that out. Got a tourney this weekend and if I break off then 20# will be spooled up for next weekends big bass tourney!

You can tow a boat with 20# Invix. This is no joke. I've had times where I struggled to break it off when hung up.

Invisx is tough stuff, I hung 15lb invisx one day and ten minutes later I broke the tree limb off and drug it in, it weighed 10 lbs. when you fishing rocks check up the line 5 to 10 feet. Really I keep looking until I don't find any more damage. Sometimes you will get heavy fraying a good distance from the bait and it's easy to overlook. Also try the palomar knot. It's easy to tie and very strong. Always wet your knots with super lines.
