It's been slow @ CREEK WRC this year. But I hooked up with a fat slab crappie today. I'm still seeing shad in the creek.

Anyone hit up the spawning grounds around Harry Moss park? They should still be there. Good ones go up there(white bass). this is usually the prime time for them up there.

Went two days this week. 3 hours each day..... Half a dozen perch and 2-3 5" bass. Am I fishing with the wrong bait here? Honestly, I'm still learning this small creek fishing thing. Striking out big time! Any tips other than fresh minnows?

Traditionally, by this time of yr the bend is DEAD! I would try way upstream, near Greenville Avenue, nice black bass spawn there, and that is the traditional spawning grounds of the White Rock Lake white bass. If they are still there, you should be able to do quite well, but it should be on the downswing there by now. (whites). T-Fly said they showed up there in mid January and early February. I traditionally have started catching them there around President's day in February, and on good years, all the way up to the first/second week in April(about now) then it dies for bass crappie and sandies, but the channels take up the slack.
