Hit a friends pond this afternoon with granddaughter Logan and grandson Kieler,on the way I tried not to get them too fired up cause I didn't really know what to expect?Logan caught a couple unassisted and I would cast and let Kieler reel it in,They were happy campers! -Me and Grandkids(Kieler/Logan far right) - My Grandaughter Logan -My Grandson Kieler and myself

That's great! My twin boys are only 5 yrs old, but they're ready to go too. I guess I'll need lots of patience.

Thanks everyone we had a great time, tried to keep it under a couple of hours, although I would have prefered to stay longer! N2FSHN.Logan is 9 yrs.old and requires minimal attention, she cast, unhooks fish and returns them on her own.Kieler at 6yrs.old is probably like your twin boys,if he is not catching ,he is bored to tears,I thought surly I would have to pull him out of the pond as he was horsing around between fish! So best of luck,I didn't think about it till later since we were fishing from the bank but PFD's are probably a good idea!

Rudy, It sounds like ya'll had a great time. Earier in the year I took my kids over to a neighbor's pond and within ten minutes my kids had launched their rubber boots into the water and right about the time we got them out, they had hooked about every tree on the place. Needless to say, my fishing was not happening. But, I'm sure I did the same stuff when I was young. I want my kids to appreciate fishing and the outdoors because it's probably one of the few holsome things left in this world, right? As they get a little older, they're asking to go more and more. How can a dad not love that?
