i've always thrown it on the samme rod I throw swim jigs on. 7' MH, 6.3:1 reel, 15 ibs. fluor. you could lighten the line depending on the weight of the scrounger/trailer.

It depends how your using it in my opinion. If you get one with a real light wire hook and plan to use it in clear water you would want Flurocarbon line and 7 mh. However as I was unfortunate enough to learn if you take this same set up and fish it on very short casts, iex. Flipping docks, the light wire hook is prone to straighten out on the hook set or shortly after. So one is forced to either change to a little lighter action rod with mono to absorb some of the energy or buy scrounger heads with a heavy hook on them. Hope you can learn from my mistake lol!
