We'll I fished Fork for the first time today from 8-5 and all I can say is that it was a grind. Between me and buddy we only boated five small fish not what I was hoping for. I will say that Fork seems like an awesome lake and can't wait to fish it again after I finish my deployment. October can't come fast enough. There were a lot of boats running about today so how did everyone else do? The weather was perfect just couldn't get the fish to bit. I think I need to put some time in out there because everything looks like it holds fish! By the way we fish from the 515 public ramp up through Birch and water temps ranged from 52 to 60.

Yeah military deployment I'm home on R&R right now and my buddy rented us a boat so we could fish Fork since I sold my boat before I deployed and haven't been able to fish since I left six months ago. Great Time either way!

You aren't the first one for sure. Those Florida Bass can shut down hard.

Beautiful day though. Thank you for serving. flag

Lack of any wind, and bright sun, makes the bite somewhat tough.
I got to fish by myself today and caught 8 fish.
I did have some nice ones though, a 7, a 7.63, and a 9.47.
Average size for the other 5 was about 3.5 lbs.
I think I had a good day.

It was pretty slow for us today as well, ended up with 5 total: 2 lb, 4.2 lb, 4.3 lb, 5.3 lb, and big fish weighed 8.8 lbs!

If you are around for some more R&R maybe one of these boys who are on them will take you and your buddy out. Nudge.

I recently moved to Texas so yesterday was my first trip to the famed Fork. I was a little nervous about running the lake after hearing about all the surprise stumps in boat lanes and I didn't want to mess up the new boat. Found some 65 degree water way up a creek. Very stained water. No big ones by the Fork scale. Total 9 bass, 6.87, 5.14, 4.62, 4.30 and the rest were 2 lb's.
Fished from 1pm - 4:30pm.

Will look around for some clearer water next week for some sight fish. No way could I have seen a bed in the dirty water today.
