I have never baited a spot before, and decides to try it this year. Milo is soaking, and waiting on it to ripen. Figured I would see if I could get any pointers as to choosing a spot to fish from the bank. I take my daughter to feed ducks often, and I have noticed after taking her a few times that I get catfish to come up and eat the bread too. The ducks are in a marina, I was thinking of baiting some spots to bait in the marina I could bank it or yak it that way.

Started chasing blues, and quit channels all together lol. I had a nice runabout butt it wasn't made for the fishing I do. And it didn't like shallow water. So I fermented them over 2 yrs. Ago you are welco e to them. Plus when it gets warm my neighbors will stop wondering lol!

To back up what Kansas said.....Do Not Put Near Vehicles! I had 4-5 gallon buckets of soured Wheat setting next to my Yamaha Rhino. That stuff impregnated the whole body of that thing. I was halfway though Deer season before it wore off, Fabreeze would not touch it! LOL John

I was fishing with the Park Ranger and a Game Warden buddy on Choke Canyon when the lake got very rough. On the way back to the launch a 5 gallon bucket of sour milo bounced and splashed all over the Game Warden. We had to stop at the Rangers house so the Game Warden could wash his clothes because his wife would have accused him of being in boy's town with that smell on his body.

Range cubes are the easiest method and least messy. If you are going to fish around the marina then chum with bread and fish with bread. The cats there are already trained with that food.

milo and wheat are both effective. Here is what I do now and this tends to be less messy but still very effective: I put a pack or 2 of yeast in my grain then I fill the bucket with water and seal the lid. Once it ferments and starts smelling, drain the liquid off the entire batch and dispose of it. then you only have the grain already soured.

I keep the liquid in mine and throw all my leftover shad in it to sweeten the flavor. It can turn a 13" gizzard into a backbone in 24 hours.

I will fill up half a leg of pantyhose with milo. Knot it, and suspend it in 1o-12' of water about 3 foot off the bottom. Tie it off to a tree or limb. Then broadcast, area around boat or bank with coffe can or two of the stuff. Set you out 2 or three spots and keep'm cooking. Move around till you start catching them. I have never used range cubes, but hear they do work well. Also; of the fermeted liquid;' The -Gravey I call it lol.pour it into the water.
