I'm finally gonna get a chance to fish Lake Fork this weekend! After hearing the stories and reading the post about the SLABS in those waters, I can't keep from smiling! I plan on tying a dozen or so crappie jigs for the trip. Any advise on what size, color, and/or material to use? Thanks in advance! Been learning a lot from the forum
Jesus said to them, "Children, do you have any fish?" They answered him, "No." He said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the boat, and you will find some." So they cast it, and now they were not able to haul it in, because of the quantity of fish. (John 21:5,6)

Gray/Gray, Cinnamon/Blue, Cinnamon/Chart, Chart/Blue, Hot Pink/Blue and Gray/Blue. That should be enough for now. The first color is the body color, the second is the tail color.

I got nothing but wouldn't mind if you stopped off in Lewisville on your way down and picked me up.
CA has a chenille named Lake Fork Fury which may be a start.

I fished crappie masters there last weekend and we finished in 10th, my partner used black/chart rocky tops and I never changed bait using a hand tied 1/8 silver/gray body with black and silver/gray hackle. The fish were shallow that day and if you get it in front of them they will flat out choke it down. My hand ties had #2 hooks and they were bending them so might want to step up to a #1 and hang on. I wished I didn't live 400+ miles away cause I would go back and fill a cooler with those big donkeys.
