Original Stren all the way to the bank ($$$). It has half the Polymers than the ones mentioned above. It is the only line that I use on my spooks in 25# test. We have tried all the others and they effect the way it performs on making the 180 degree dying quiver turns while sitting and the way it walks.

The more polymers the less it floats. Now if you are using the baits as you mentioned it does not matter and they are great for that application, with more abrasion resistance, less memory, suppleness and etc., thus the polymers.

Big Game is as good as any for a mono.

Big Game is the only mono I'll buy anymore.

BIG GAME 15lb is good and cheap..

Personally, I have always use Berkley XT mono I think it is alot better than big game especially around cover

Same line I use for almost everything for the last 20 years;

T-Line by Mason in brown. (I would use 14 or 17 for this app.)
It's a co-polymer, super limp and tough as nails.
You have to buy it direct, nobody around here carries it these days.

It's worth the trouble to get it.
