I have only fished the jetty on the Surfside side. I fish both sides once I get about half the distance to the end.

I've prefer to fish on the surf side of it, but the last time I went, I did better in the channel.I also have caught some of my bigger trout during the summer in the channel.

Depends on what you are fishing for. For trout, I usually fish surf side on incoming and channel side on outgoing.
