I realize this not a small task. It is time and labor consuming. I would like to know : After I have removed old guard what is the best method of removing old adhesive from hull ? Any other hints to make the job easier would be appreciated.

Get an eraser wheel at your local auto parts store and go at it. There is no easy way to do it. Wear a face sheild and take your time.

I used acetone, a heat gun and a plastic scraper. It was a chore but came real clean.

Having someone else do it is the easiest way to remove it.
