I fished the surf this morning between 9 and 11 with not a single bite. Didn't see anyone else catching any either. Did see some dead catfish on the beach.
Left to try the Jetty hoping for some action there. There were work boats on the surf side piling up huge bolders under the water to the left side of the original jetty. The end 2000 feet are being worked on and a huge boulder has been piled on the jetty to stop any foot traffic to the end where all the work is being done.
I fished the Jetty from 11 to 1 and caught nothing but did see many "puffer' fish caught. In fact that was the only fish that was biting while I was there. When I left I noticed a huge crowd on the beach where turtles were being released. I did not watch..,too crowded.
Gotta get this water heated up then the fish will come back.

Thanks for the information. I was going to give it a try this week but I saw that the weather is about 15 degrees cooler at the beach compared to the mainland. With the water temperature being so low I just don't have faith in the surf fishing right now.
