The crappie bite is on at Mineral Wells State Park. I saw several limits of fish caught in shallow water using minnows and corks. Jigs under corks and cast and retrieved very slowly was catching as well. Crappie were close to points with deep water on one side or both.
Now, somebody kick me because I forgot my fishing poles and had to sit and watch everyone else catch fish for three days. I could not bring myself to go to walmart and buy another combo.
Don't sweat the small stuff. It's all small stuff.

Can you launch a boat at the ramp? Also, the park used to lend equipment at either the bait shop or front booth. Maybe they don't anymore. But worth checking into.

When we left at noon the boat ramp was closed. Only boats on the water were kayaks and canoes.
