I'm sure that is true about the 8. I'm glad I haven't used one yet so I can still be happy with my 7.

--LOL-- I remember you had a 1198 and was wearing them out Paul. ---LOL-- Nothing wrong with Humminbird. I personally like HB side imaging better but Lowrance does have a better down imaging. 2d it doesn't matter

I bought the 10 gen 2 last year and after thinking I must be nuts, it was worth every penny. The side scan changes everything, the down scan too. I kept my old elite 5 on the console for color sonar, and usually split the 10 on side and down scan. I knew once I got over the sticker shock and had it behind me I would be fine. Just forking over that much money was tough. It is like everything else, in life, your priority. I have bought other things and then wished I had bought up. In this case I stretched and bought up but not the top. Side scan is a game changer. Anyone with out it is left behind.

Sounds like the kiddos in the ATT Uverse comercial? Lol
I still got the antiquated grap. I am favoring the HDS now after reading the testimonies.

I would appreciate setting info and suggestions for my HDS 7. I think that it's operating fine but would like to know that I'm maximizing it's potential. Thanks.

How is the HDS 7 different from the Elite 7 HDI?

How come I keep catching small fish when every product I buy is supposed to catch more and bigger fish?
